1979. A heady year that saw the birth of Trivial Pursuit and Sudoku while the likes of Racey, Kiss , Chic and The knack dominated the ‘hit parade.’
Now, Newcastle Art Gallery is inviting you to step into a time-warp, back to that ‘boogieriffic’ year for its next Last Fridays event this month.
The event will give punters a chance to flaunt their number skills with a giant Sudoku puzzle.
If that wasn’t enough, Newcastle’s very own “King of Singing” Zackari Watt will be acting as your quizmaster for the night, presenting an interactive Trivial Pursuit installation.
It wouldn’t be a ’70s celebration without shining a light on the great tunes from the era and thankfully, Newcastle connoisseur of all things tuneful DJ Tone will be on hand, spinning stacks of wax exclusively from 1979 with a few hints of what was to come at the turn on the decade.
So, throw on your best ’70s garb and get along for a fun-filled celebration of times past.
Last Fridays: Party Like it’s 1979 will be on at Newcastle Art Gallery on Friday 26 April and the event is totally free! Groovy.
