The historic grounds of Fort Scratchley make for some pretty spectacular views on a normal day, but when the Newcastle 500 is in town the vantage point is almost unbeatable.

So, Newcastle City Council is now giving you the opportunity to experience the Supercar’s championship racing season opener for 2023 from the elevated viewing platform of the fort with expansive views of the track, including the Nobbys Road straight and hairpin turn.

A purpose-built marquee on the Fort’s parade ground will play home to a Hamptons-inspired race party complete with styling, a grazing table, a gourmet BBQ and a bar.

The private event bar will be serving up Steel City beers and a range of Hunter wines as part of a five-hour beverage package. And you’ll also get an Earp distillery cocktail on arrival and have the ability to purchase other yummy Earp treats throughout the day.

And don’t worry about missing the race while you’re grabbing a drink, there’ll be televised footage of the race pumping through the marquee too.

One thing to note is that this hospitality does not include tickets to the Newcastle 500 Race Precinct. So you’ll need to hand over a few extra dollars to Ticketek for a Newcastle 500 ticket to gain access to this event.

You can experience the Newcastle 500 at Fort Scratchley on Sunday 12th March 2023. Tickets are $270 per person and can be purchased from civictheatrenewcastle.com.au.
