New Zealand-based emotive-punk duo Carb On Carb are set to return to Newcastle on their upcoming Australian tour. The band are hitting the east coast of Australia to celebrate the release of their new single ‘It’s Been A Rough Year’.
The two-piece are no strangers to Newcastle; on past trips the pair have supported Joyce Manor, and headlined 2017’s Wicking Out! festival.
The band’s new song is up now on their Soundcloud account. ‘It’s Been A Rough Year’ plays with nostalgic guitar lines and emotive pauses; bringing back the golden years of ’00s Power-Punk. A feel-good anthem wrapped in a summery vibe.

In 2015, the band released their self-titled debut album through Sydney DIY label Black Wire Records. Although technically based in Auckland, Carb On Carb spend a lot of time on this side of the Tasman Sea – supporting bands like The Hotelier, Joyce Manor, and Jess Locke.
Carb On Carb are playing at The Hamilton Station Hotel on Wednesday March 21. The free entry show is supported by local Emo merchants Shysters and Safe Hands.
