Their glistening track I’ll Be Coming Home Soon made its way onto out best Newy songs of 2019 – at a respectable number six no less.
And Glovers Lane have come out of the gate strongly in 2020, dropping their first single of the new decade on Friday.
Called Tired Town, this lilting ballad is an emotional reaction to the current bushfire crisis that is STILL gripping many parts of the country.
The accompanying clip, shows the band performing the song in a relaxed backyard setting, intercut with clips of the heroism and resilience that has been displayed by so many throughout this global ecological disaster.

While dealing with quite heavy and melancholic subject matter, the track is imbued with a definite sense of optimism especially with the chorus of ” And now, ‘we’re picking up the people of this tired town/feeling so much higher when the sun goes down…” before the emotional refrain of “we can make it together.”
if Tired Town is an indication of what we can expect from these guys this year, it’s pretty much a free-kick that 2020 is going to be a great year for Glovers Lane.
If you haven’t checked these guys out yet, well you’re in luck because they will be taking to the stage at The Wicko this Saturday as part of the Wickham ParkBlues and Roots Festival.
