New Annual to shut King Street for a massive party this September

This year’s New Annual festival will kick off with a huge street party headlined by renowned First Nations artist Mitch Tambo.

The party, which will take over King Street between Auckland & Darby Street, will transform the balcony of City Hall into a massive stage.

Party headliner, Mitch Tambo has been absolutely kicking arse recently with his unique fusion of traditional sounds with contemporary beats.

Alongside Tambo’s performance, partygoers can expect captivating street performances including the visually stunning Tower Divas.

Adding to the sensory feast, digital projections by Big Picture Fest will light up the night and gourmet food trucks will line the festival precinct

The party will kick off the 10-day festival, arts and culture festival that features an array of performances, exhibitions, and interactive experiences across Newcastle.

The New Annual opening night street party is happening on Friday, 27 September 2024. Entry to the party is free and open to all ages. For more information visit newannual.com.
