Mezz Bar July Live Music Line-up

Since it’s launch last month, Mezz Bar at Wallsend Diggers have presented a line-up of live music featuring a some of Newcastle’s most loved acts. July at Mezz Bar is no different. Dancefloor filling bands and Sunday sessions featuring your favourite solo artists.

JULY 1 – Loko

With a generation of musical experience between them, this is an act to please all ages and musical tastes. These musicians have played in respected local bands such as Night Shift, Radio GaGa, Street Legal, Chosen Few, First Degree, Idol Motion, Your Move, Incognito, Roadhouse & Alcatraz, to name just a few, and all are well known mem- bers of the music scene in Newcastle.

JULY 2 – Snape Trilogy

Snape Trilogy, features two of the original Snape Brothers, who have now teamed up with the next generation of Snape to bring you a Trio with a fresh face and young ideas but with the same versatility that has long existed in all previous musical outfits.


T.K is no stranger when it comes to the cover music scene. With 20 years of live performance under his belt and a music career that has seen him travel the globe and back you can be assured that you are going to get an energetic, laugh a minute, sing along, professional show that will leave you wanting more!

JULY 8 – 4 Letter Word

4 Letter Word was formed in late 2012 and brings together some of Newcastle’s Finest Muso’s playing all the songs that will get you out of your seat and singing along. They have been performing consistently ever since, basically every weekend you will see the band at a venue somewhere in the Hunter Region. Covering material from the 60’s through to today there is something for everyone in their varied setlists.

JULY 9 – Rubber Bullet

If you’re a music fan, chances are the boys from Rubber Bullet, have got your favourite sounds covered. With an unrivalled quantity of songs in the arsenal they have been gigging solidly in the Newcastle area for the past four years. They have held down a regular Thursday night gig at Hotel Delany since January 2001. They say they have never played the same show twice, keeping every performance unique, fresh and driving with a spontaneous energy.

JULY 10 – Marty Wooster

JULY 15 – GenR8

A blend of three part harmonies mixed with keyboards, guitar and percussion provide a soulful and high impact repertoire making Gen-R-8 one of Newcastle’s finest vocal acts. The trio comprises the talents of Yianni Moratidis,Peter Young and Jeremy Barnes. Each member brings a style and strength that complements one another, providing the audience with something different to the usual musical act.

JULY 16 – Sundays Record

Sundays Record are Ben Travis, Ammiel Warner and Jae Nelson, a high energy, 4 piece pop band that delivers everytime! All 4 members professionalism and experience has created a first class experience from first note to last, with tremendous stage presence, catchy melodies and great harmonies, Sundays record have earned a great deal of praise from crowds and journalists alike. The band members varied individual influences are well represented in their live cover sets. Their versatility and range are second to none!

JULY 17 – Kim

In an era where youthful female singer/songwriters tend to either travel the Britney Spears manufactured pop path or the laid-back road of Norah Jones, it’s refreshing to discover the music of Australia’s own Kim. An energetic performer whose music defies categorization, Kim has progressively built a crowd-pleasing reputation since branching out from her Toowoomba base in 2002. But a series of live performances up and down Australia’s east coast is merely an entrée for what lies ahead.

JULY 22 – The Cassettes

Party Band Performing the Best of the 80’s.Featuring Brien McVernon,Rosie & Donnie you will be transported into the times of Skinny Ties and Rubix Cubes.

JULY 23 – The Smarts

With a lengthy song list and a lifetime of experience, The Smarts can cut it in any situation. At heart, they’re a rock band. But they can get funky, soulful, bluesy and even country with the best of ‘em. Theyplay tunes from the dawn of rock to now their way – and always with passion.

JULY 24 – Stephen Boyd

Stephen is a career vocalist & guitarist. Playing Solo in Hotels around Newcastle in the mid to late 70s, he led the way for following generations of Soloists.

JULY 29 – Phonic

Phonic perform the very best pop, funk, rock, soul, jazz and blues classics at the highest level. Phonic leaves a positive and lasting impression on their audiences playing songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, through to the most recent songs of today. Boasting hits from the likes of Daft Punk, Kings Of Leon, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and many more, Phonic are the perfect party entertainment!

JULY 30 – The Years

JULY 31 – Matt McLaren

Matt McLaren is the perfect soloist for any occasion. With an extensive repertoire, Matt will blow you away with his extraordinary keys skills and mesmerising vocals. Matt’s song list ranges from old and new tunes which everybody is bound to enjoy. He seamlessly blend old school classics with modern hits from a variety of genres including pop, rock, dance, blues and funk.
