In 1999, the inaugural Mental Health Art Works! exhibition was held at the Gosford Regional Art Gallery. It has now become a significant annual event to shine the light on Mental Health Month every October.
The exhibition provides people whose lives have been affected by mental illness the opportunity to use art as a form of expression and engages the community in a better understanding of mental health issues.
