Fans of Hunter Artist Melody Pool will soon get to hear her long-awaited new EP, Lost in Time.
The six-track release, Melody’s first collection of recorded songs since 2016’s Deep Dark Savage Heart, โwill be available for streaming and purchase on 17 February.
While we got a taste of what was to come when the EP’s title track dropped late last year, to say this release is highly anticipated is an understatement.
Following the release tour for Deep Dark Savage Heart, in 2017 Melody shared a more literal account of her experiences when she was featured on ABC Televisionโs Australian Story. At that time, she announced she would take a break from music to focus on rehabilitating her mental health.
Melody said the time between the release of her last album and this new EP allowed her to explore music in a more creative and intuitive way, and ready herself to relaunch her recording career on her own terms, as a wholly independent artist.
โI follow where the muse leads,โ she said
โI donโt ever want to make an album filled with pop hits. Itโs always going to be me playing guitar and singing the truth.โ
Recorded with her life and music partner Christopher Dale, the songs on the EP were laid down on a rural property in the Hunter over a two-day session and often feature the sounds of the environment around the makeshift studio.
Melody will celebrate the release of the Lost in Time EP with a show at the Grand Junction Hotel in Maitland on 8 March. Visit melodypool.com.au to purchase tickets and pre-order the new release.
