It’s been a long time between drinks, but legendary country duo McAlister Kemp is making a welcome return to the stage.
Yep, the lauded duo, featuring Newcastle’s own Troy Kemp will be hitting Toronto Hotel this October and they’ll be bringing the one and only Viper Creek Band and special guests along for what promises to be one hell of a ride!
Consisting of Troy and Drew McAlister McAlister Kemp are one of the most successful Australian country acts of the last decade.
From the immediate, breakout success of their debut album All Kinds of Tough in 2010 through to disbanding in 2015, the duo earned their stripes as one of the highest-selling and most exciting touring acts in Oz country.
But it is not just the strength of their live shows that brought them acclaim, their three albums – All Kinds of Tough (2010), Country Proud (2012) and Harder to Tame (2014) are classics of the genre, packed with hands-in-the-air rockers such as Country Proud, Hell Yeah, Hard Work, and Harder To Tame.
Expect to hear a slew of McAlister Kemp classics and maybe even some new tunes at this anticipated show.
The break has been rewarding for Drew and Troy individually with solo albums, hit singles, awards and touring and with a legacy as enduring as the MK catalogue, it was only a matter of time before the pair would unleash once again.
“Our split was far from acrimonious,” Drew said.
“But we realised that we are brothers and what we created is special to us and a bunch of other people too.”
Troy added: “We’re thrilled to have the chance to take these songs back to the fans that were there with us all the way.”
Catch McAlister Kemp at the Toronto Hotel on Saturday 16 October. Head here for tickets but don’t dilly dally, they’re selling like hotcakes!
