Nashville singer-songwriter Max McNown is bringing his biggest Australian headline tour yet to Newcastle, with a show at Howlin’ Rock N Rodeo in February 2027.

The 25-year-old country star will return to Australia following a sold-out tour and a rapid rise that has seen him rack up more than 900 million worldwide streams, multiple RIAA certifications and a huge following for his emotionally charged songwriting.

His 2025 single Better Me For You spent 40 weeks in the Australian charts, while Countrytown named McNown its most played artist of 2025.

The Newcastle date is part of an expansive Australian and New Zealand run that will also take in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Auckland and Christchurch.

The tour marks McNown’s biggest headline run in Australia to date, following major international appearances including Stagecoach and Lollapalooza, two consecutive sold-out nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and touring alongside country star Parker McCollum.

McNown’s Newcastle visit comes as he prepares to release his third studio album, Leave On A Light, on 25 September.

The 17-track record was recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio with longtime collaborator and producer Jamie Kenney, and continues the singer-songwriter’s lyric-first approach while expanding his sound with contributions from songwriters and musicians including Julian Bunetta and Charlie Worsham.

Recent releases including the soulful First Born Daughter, Comets and Take Me Back, his collaboration with global DJ and hitmaker Kygo, have offered a taste of the new album.

Leave On A Light explores themes of love, gratitude and family, while tracks such as Something to Someone and Done For continue McNown’s knack for turning personal experiences into songs with broad emotional appeal.

Max McNown will perform at Howlin’ Rock N Rodeo in Newcastle on Saturday, 13 February 2027. For complete tour and ticket information, head to maxmcnown.com/tour.
