He’s been playing Lucky Lotteries since he was 18 years, but it all paid off when the Merewether retiree purchased a winning ticket from Marketown Newsagency.
The local man, who has decided to remain anonymous, told an official from The Lott that he was still struggling to comprehend the exciting news.
“I was shopping with my wife yesterday and ducked into the newsagency to check my ticket,” he told The Lott.
“They told me I’d won a good prize!
“So, when I went home, I got my son to check my ticket online, and he told me it was $100,000!
“I couldn’t believe I’d won the big one! It’s so overwhelming!”
The winning entry was purchased at Marketown Newsagency in Newcastle West.
“We love big wins like this. Hopefully, it’s the start of a winning streak for us,” Marketown Newsagency manager, Mark Mcnally said.
“We’ve been sharing the news with our customers and they’re all blown away.
“Congratulations to our winner. We’re so excited for you and hope you enjoy being $100,000 richer!”
The winner said he’ll use the money to look after his kids and take his wife on an overseas holiday.
