Local runners will lace up their running shoes for the 14th Maitland River Run at the Maitland Regional Athletics Centre this weekend.
Traditionally held at the Riverlink precinct, this year’s event will mark a significant milestone as River Run moves permanently to the Athletics Centre.
The 2023 event will feature the classic 4km, 8km, 12km, and half marathon (21.1km) distances, offering something for runners of all levels.
Participants can expect an exciting course that meanders through the streets, River foreshore, and culminates with a thrilling finish on the track, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators.
The 4km looped course will take runners along Odd Street, one side of Hunter Street, and the traditional lower paths along the River.
Participants in the multi-lap courses will receive tremendous support as they pass the start line on the track for each lap, building up to an exhilarating final sprint to the finish area.
