Level Up at The Levee returns this weekend, transforming Maitland into a pop-culture playground packed with cosplay, gaming and family-friendly fun.
Running from 2pm, the free event will once again take over The Levee Shared Zone, inviting fans of every fandom to step into an afternoon of colour, creativity and all-ages entertainment.
Now in its second year, the celebration is shaping up as one of the city’s most loved community events.
Crowds of around 3,500 are expected to pour into the precinct, with organisers saying the surge in foot traffic is a major boost for businesses in and around The Levee.
The event has quickly become a highlight on Maitland’s calendar, helping position the city as a lively destination for pop-culture celebrations and creative gatherings.
Cosplay will be a huge drawcard again this year, with award-winning ambassadors on-site for meet-and-greets and photos.
A dedicated cosplay photo wall will offer free magnetic souvenir snaps courtesy of Magnetic Shots, while roaming performers and themed market stalls bring the atmosphere to life.
The popular cosplay competition also returns, offering categories from kids to masters, with $300 local vouchers up for grabs.
For LEGO lovers, LEGO Land will deliver hands-on building fun with Bricks 4 Kidz and impressive displays from Rainbow Bricks LUG, including a sneak peek at the upcoming Maitland Brickfest.
Local creators, live entertainment and plenty of pop-culture merch round out the afternoon’s activities, encouraging visitors of all ages to get involved.
Level Up at The Levee hits Saturday, 2 May, from 2pm–8pm, and attendance is free. Cosplay is encouraged, and competition sign-ups open from 2pm on the day. For full details, visit the event page at thelevee.com.au or follow The Levee on social media.
