Swooping vintage planes and alfresco cinema experiences are just some of the fun that will be had in Maitland this summer.
Maitland City Council, this week, launched its summer Make It Maitland campaign aimed at celebrating the city’s fecund food, cultural, natural, and heritage experiences.
One of the highlights of the summer program of events is definitely the return of the popular Street Eats events across the city.
The pop-up Epicurean’s paradise will be visiting Morpeth on Sunday 10 January 2021, East Maitland on Friday 15 January 2021, and Woodberry on Friday 5 February 2021
On Friday 22 January 2021, The Levee will be bathed in neon for Neon Nights – a free fantastic display of glow in the dark interactive activities, light shows, projection art as well as mini-golf, other games and activities, and a DJ.
There will also be seven outdoor cinema screenings over the summer program including Christmas at The Common, and the Dive in Cinema at East Maitland.
Add to that Tiger Moths diving and swooping all across the city from Sunday 3 January to Tuesday 26 January, lazy trips down the Hunter River in a kayak or on a stand-up paddleboard, cooking demonstrations and more, and you’ve got yourself a summer to remember!
“We want our locals and visitors to really get behind Make it Maitland and
enjoy what our great city has to offer this summer,” Mayor Loretta Baker said.
“We’re excited that there are programs that can be enjoyed across the whole city. There will be so much going on and something for everyone to get involved in.”
