Local Tom Myers says goodbye to his band Papa vs Pretty

After almost a decade of making music together, Papa vs Pretty have announced that they are breaking up with local member, Tom Myers from Cessnock bidding farewell to the group on his Facebook page.

In a statement made to their Facebook page the Sydney based indy rock band, Papa vs Pretty thanked everyone for their support and vowed to continue on their musical journey.

“It’s been a privilege and a pleasure making music together and we’ll continue to pursue our love of music and remain the best of friends. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!”

Papa vs Pretty became renowned for their fusion of indie rock and electronica about four years ago after the release of their first two EP’s Papa Vs Pretty (2009) and Heavy Harm 2010. They gained the attention of the Australian music scene for their “intimidatingly tight” and energetic live performances.

Closer to home, local drummer Tom Myers said farewell to the band via his Facebook profile saying;

“Today is heavy. Papa vs Pretty have called it a day. I just wanted to thank everyone involved. Thomas, Angus and Luke we are family”

He went on to say;

“To anyone who came to a show, bought a shirt or an album, thankyou deeply. I’ve had the best 6 or 7 years of my life. When one door closes, another one open they say. A stiff drink and a holiday looks good doesn’t it?”

Have one for us Tom, and thanks for the great music.
