Live n’ Local returns this Wednesday, the 16th March with an awesome line up of local artists including The Tom Blake Band, Deanna Rose & Max Jackson.
Deanna hails from the country music capitol Tamworth, NSW, but is now based in Newcastle. She plays Ukelele along with the Guitar and uses her voice to create a captivating, honest spectacle. Nothing pretentious, or contrived. She wants you to share in what is being created, often on the spot, you won’t hear the same version of a song twice. When performing solo she sings what she likes to call ‘power folk’.Inspired by Jewel, Bat For Lashes, Jeff Buckley, Norah Jones, Janis Joplin, Jeff Lang, Karnivool, Queens of the Stone Age, and Sam Buckingham amongst many others…Deanna delivers a rare and unique style, all of her own imaginings.

To say that Max Jackson has a song in her heart would be an understatement. The talented singer/songwriter has penned tracks for some of Australia’s finest performers, with her work gaining overseas recognition, as well as a publishing deal with Sydney’s Reservoir Records. She has co-written no fewer than eight of the tracks on Gina Jeffreys’ upcoming album, Unravel, and also wrote Hollywood, the single release for exciting new Pop/Rock band The Million.
Tom Blake Band
One of Newcastle’s most talented musicians. Tom Blake can play pretty much anything and top it off with a killer vocal line and introspective lyrics.
