In a disappointing, yet understandable move, Lizotte’s has announced the cancellation of all August gigs.
Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, Brian and Jo Lizotte revealed they would be pulling up stumps on gigs for the remainder of the month due to concerns over the current COVID outbreak.
Gigs affected include Access All 80s on Friday 13 August, and Legends: The Show on Saturday 21 August.
“Good morning everyone. We have made the difficult decision to cancel all August shows,” the post read.
“The safety of our community, staff, customers, artists and crew is our priority. Bring on September – we will be back. Ticket holders, please check your email (including spam folders). Thank you. #staysafe #stayhome.”
Despite this month being a write-off, all things being equal, September is shaping up to be a doozy of a musical month at the Lambton venue.
Highlights hitting the stage next month include the femme rock swagger of Newcastle behemoth Hot Flush whose three-show stand (with two sold-out) is sure to shake the Lizotte’s foundations, the brilliant Mitch Capone delving deep into the hefty catalogue of Elvis Presley, and James Bennett, who will be launching his gorgeous new album Life & Life Only.
So, mark those calendars.
