With a little help from his friends

Local singer songwriter Spencer Scott is playing The Cambridge Hotel once a month and bringing along friends both locally and interstate for the ride. The shows in the newly refurbished Sidebar kick off on the 16th of August and entry is totally free.

Spencer has been playing gigs all around Newcastle (and Australia) for a few years. Playing with acts such as Joey Cape, Lemuria, Wil Wagner & Lincoln Le Fevre. Spencer is currently working on a Split 7″ to be released at the end of this year

Also on the bill in August is Ess-em.  Described as “Deadpan, Baroque Pop”, Ess-em is a classically trained pianist. She has played with various Sydney-based outfits including Betty Boston, Isaac Graham and the Great Unknown, Lindentree, The Rumjacks, and The Bottlers and has finally branched out focusing on creating her own piano-based tunes.

Joining them will be Shelby Clements and Jack Lundie: . Shelby is a fresh face in Newcastle, having lived across the country, she’s finally settled in Newy and is gigging across the city. Shelby has an amazing voice, built for all things rockabilly, bluesy and jazzy. She’s really friendly and drinks a lot of tea. Jack Lundie has played in such well-known Newy bands as Caverns and Adeline Pines. Now he is out on his own, singing songs about booze, cigarettes, girls and touring. Buy him a beer or two as he gets ready to tour at the end of the year.
