Local artist, Lennie Edgerton has released new music under the moniker Lens Theory. The track’s called One Night Stand, and it the first taste from this forthcoming EP The Road.
The single, available for download & streaming on all digital platforms from today, is the follow up to the 2014 Lens Theory E.P Escaping Reality and shows an evolution in Edgerton’s songwriting and vocal performance.
Mixed and mastered by Wesley Edgerton at Len’s studio, Bella Dose Music in Woodberry, the track features performances from Kerryn Peate on keys and Brad Roulston on drums with backing vocals from Karyn Raftery, Kerryn Peate and Wesley Edgerton. All the other sounds you hear on the track are played by Lennie himself.
The song is co-written with Leanne Nobel and came from an inspired songwriting workshop.
“Leanne came to a songwriting workshop of mine and we hooked up for a writing session,” Lennie told Newcastle Live.
“I asked her to bring me a theme, it was a relationship scenario. The writing session developed quickly to a love affair, which just so transpired into alcoholism so that there became the metaphor for the theme”.
Lennie says the single is a signpost for themes listeners will hear on his new EP.
“It’s about a life learning experience, growth and development on me as a human,” he says.
“The title track from The Road EP will be the next single, again about coming to a crossroad in life and choosing a certain path”.
