The Hunter Community Environment Centre will release their long-awaited preliminary report into the impacts of thermal pollution from coal-fired power stations cooling water on Lake Macquarie will be released on Thursday.
๏ปฟ๏ปฟThe preliminary report will cover the effects on fish and phytoplankton, with special attention paid to the impact on seagrass extent after decades of artificially elevated water temperature from cooling-water discharges that allow Vales Point and Eraring to discharge water above the specified temperature limits for hundreds of additional hours per year in Wyee and Myuna Bay.
