When you’ve got people like funk architect Bootsy Collins proclaim ing the way you play makes him ‘feel good,’ you know you’re on the right track.

Enter Lachy Doley– the lauded Aussie ivory tickler who has been dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ.

After two false starts, Lachy is finally heading back out on the road on his aptly titled Third Time Lachy tour which will swing into Lizotte’s on Friday 2 July.

Like most of us, 2020 was a strange year for the undisputed king of the Whammy Clavinet. – going from almost endless touring of festivals in Europe and North America to a whole lot of home time.

Not one to rest on his laurels, however, Lachy has made the most of his time finishing his sixth studio album Double Figures. The retrospective album is filled with some older remastered favourites and some brand new recordings to celebrate his 10 year anniversary as a solo recording/touring artist.

Released in September last year, the album went straight to number one on the the ARIA vinyl charts.

Lachy Doley and his group are certainly no strangers to the stage, having played more than 300 shows and festivals around the world (including Montreal Jazz Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Bospop).

Lachy has also toured and recorded with the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Steve Vai, Powderfinger, and Billy Thorpe, quite rightly earning a rep as one of the heaviest hitting Hammond hawks in the biz!

He’s also a dab-hand at going internet viral with his stunning rendition of Bill Withers’ Use Me sitting at over a million Facebook views alone!

Catch The Lachy Doley Group at Lizotte’s on Friday 2 July. Head here for tickets.
