Lachlan X. Morris releases first track from Premeditations.

There’s elements of The Beach Boys, but also King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Newcastle’s own Dad-Rock raconteur Lachlan X. Morris has dropped a brand new song. The track ‘Stray Dog’ comes from his upcoming sophomore album Premeditations.

‘Stray Dog’ is a continuation of everything we have heard from Morris; a man stuck between the past and the future. The influences are varied, but they all come together to form a sound that stands out. There’s elements of The Beach Boys, but also King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

On the track, Morris says that ‘Stray Dog’ is about “specific times when I’ve been so overwhelmed in situations and felt the need to get the fuck out!”.

Lachlan X. Morris is launching Premeditations this Friday, September 28 with a free show at The Stag & Hunter Hotel. Supporting him on the night will be local singer/songwriters Boots Porter and As Of Sky – both performing in full band mode.

The new album will be available on Bandcamp and streaming services; but also on vinyl. Earlier in the year, Lachlan X. Morris reached his crowdfunding goal, allowing him to create a limited edition vinyl pressing for the album.
