ARIA Hall of Famer, Kasey Chambers has announced that she will release her first book this October.

Just Don’t Be A Dickhead… And Other Profound Things I’ve Learnt is set to walk readers and, listeners to the audiobook, through the singer’s life journey, from her childhood in the Australian outback to her rise as an international music icon, all while adhering to the sage advice embodied in the book’s title.

Readers will also be able to listen to the songs that correlate with the stories through QR codes dotted throughout the book, allowing them to experience the book and her new album, Backbone, in tandem.

The audiobook version will offer an even more immersive experience, featuring Chambers herself reading and performing the accompanying songs, providing a unique fusion of narrative and music.

“I am so keen (and a little bit scared) to share these two real and honest representations of my creative soul, along with the inspiration I’ve found in unexpected places throughout my unique life,” Kasey said.

The accompanying album, saw Chambers collaborating with long-time band members, including her father and guitarist Bill Chambers, guitarist Brandon Dodd, and bassist Jeff McCormack. Adding a fresh dynamic to the album are guitarist Sam Teskey from The Teskey Brothers and American drummer Brady Blade, who has worked with Emmylou Harris and Steve Earle. This blend of familiar and new talent has resulted in a record that not only reflects Chambers’ roots but also marks her growth as an artist.

Just Don’t Be A Dickhead… And Other Profound Things I’ve Learnt will hit bookstores on 1 October. You can listen to the lead single for the forthcoming album, Baclkbone, by clicking here.
