After being effectively starved of our live music fix for months now, thanks to the brilliant Great Southern Nights initiative we are now spoiled for choice.
One of those gigs that has got us keen for a bit of a mini road trip is the upcoming Phil Jamieson show at The Mighty Hunter Valley (formerly Potters Brewery) in Nulkaba this month.
The Grinspoon frontman will take to the stage in solo mode, performing a slew of Grinners classics as well as his own solo work and a few ‘ring-in’ tunes delivered in true ‘Jamo’ style.
If you have seen Phil perform in solo mode you’d know that there is an undeniable sense of fun, self-effacing humour and humbleness resonating from the stage from ‘go to woah.’
While he is quite at home rocking a massive crowd, as Grinspoon’s 2019 Chemical Hearts tour more than proved, Phil is equally adept at enthralling the most intimate of audiences.
And, most of all, you’d know just how bloody good those Grinners hits sound when stripped back to their bare elements and just how good Phil is at delivering them.
To make things even more enticing, Newcastle jazz quartet Soda will kick off proceedings followed by the enchanting indie-soul sounds of Byron Bay-based songwriter Sophie Ozard.
Catch Phil Jamieson, Sophie Ozard, and Soda at The Mighty Hunter Valley on Saturday 21 November. Head here for tickets.
