Whatever your child’s age or interests, Lake Macquarie City Council has you covered these school holidays with activities for all to enjoy at our libraries, Art Gallery and swim centres.
Kids can let their creative flair run wild, decorating their own pirate hat or sparkly mermaid at Wangi Wangi Library on Monday 3 July or painting a portrait of their favourite pet at Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery on Wednesday 5 July.
On Friday 7 July, budding scientists can learn, observe and discover the chemistry behind our bodies, brains and the universe at Speers Point Library.
Then on Thursday 13 July, young children can explore portraiture using colour and collage at Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery.
Children looking to improve their confidence in the water before summer, can take part in West Wallsend Swim Centre’s intensive learn-to-swim program from Monday 3 to Friday 7 July.
Mayor of Lake Macquarie, Cr Kay Fraser said there was a great range of options to keep the kids busy over the school break.
“It’s often hard keeping the kids entertained over the school holidays, but with so many wonderful activities, classes and workshops on offer, it’s never been easier to fill in the days,” Cr Fraser said.
“I’d encourage everyone to get along to an activity, have fun, make some new friends and enjoy the school holidays in Lake Macquarie.”
