Federal Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon served as Minster for Defence from 2007-2009 and visited troops in Afghanistan several times.
Watching the scenes from Kabul overnight, Mr Fitzgibbon says the Federal Government should have done much more to assist those who supported us in Afghanistan.
This morning he told Tracy Mac on Newcastle Live Radio that he believes there is still time to fix what’s happening in Kabul, and Afghanistan more generally.
