Jimmy Barnes returns to the Hunter for Red Hot Summer

Jimmy Barnes will make a triumphant return to the stage in the Hunter this April as part of the Red Hot Summer tour.

The gig at Roche Estate will be the first time the Australian rock icon has performed in the region since being admitted to hospital with bacterial pneumonia late last year.

Fans were unsure if the much-loved rocker would make it for the Red Hot Summer stop in the Hunter after Jimmy underwent open heart surgery as part of his hospital stay.

“I’ve visited all my doctors now and they all tell me the same thing. I am ready to rock,” the 67-year-old rocker said.

“I’ve been in my gym every day, sometimes twice a day. and I feel fitter and stronger with each passing day.

“My band are chomping at the bit and just like me, they can’t wait to hit the stage. So bring on the tour! Get your tickets soon because it seems a lot of you are keen to come out and celebrate with us and I wouldn’t want you to miss out.

“See you on the road.”

Jimmy’s first show back after surgery will see him take to the stage for a set at Bluesfest in Byron Bay to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album, Flesh and Wood.

A few days later he’ll join acts like Birds of Toyko and The Living End in the Pokolbin for the Red Hot Summer tour’s Hunter Valley date.

The Red Hot Summer Tour hits Roche Estate on Saturday, 6 April 2024. Check out the full lineup below and visit redhotsummertour.com.au for more information.
