Jack Nigro launches his own recording studio on the Central Coast

Acclaimed record producer, Jack Nigro has announced the launch of his new venture, Sonora Studios.

Located just a stone’s throw away from some of the Central Coast’s most stunning beaches, the state-of-the-art recording and creative haven boasts a meticulously treated live room, an acoustically isolated control room, and a secondary production and mixing space.

“Building my own studio was something I first wanted to do when I was about 15 years old,” Jack said.

“Having my own space that I, and hopefully others, love creating in every day is a very special experience. I have always liked studios to feel relaxed, intimate and calm.

“I feel like this is the best environment to foster creativity and become completely immersed in what you are doing. We built the studio to cater for bands to be able to record live, a process I find very important for many of the artists I work with, and ensured our main live room space has a lively, organic sound to best capture acoustic instruments.”

Previously serving as the in-house engineer and studio manager at The Grove Studios, Jack earned a reputation as one of the country’s most sought-after producers working with acts like Rum Jungle, DICE, Vacations, Surf Trash and The Terry’s.

“Working with Jack has always been such a treat for us, his ideas and creative contribution have really made a difference in a lot of our records, being his mate is just a bonus” Lou Anderson from The Terry’s said.

Jack’s commitment to nurturing future Australian talent extends beyond his own work, as he aims to mentor and develop emerging engineers and producers, ensuring a thriving and vibrant music community.

“One of my favourite aspects of the job is that we are creating bodies of art that will hopefully reach and positively impact many other people,” Jack said.

“When I work with artists and bands one of the first things I like to do is hear their references. Find out what tones, energies and vibes excite them. I then combine all of these references to help build an exciting vision with the band.”

With the first artists already through the door, Sonora is now open for business. To find out more about the studio and working with Jack visit
