There have been some great tunes emanating out of the recently refurbished back room at Mayfield Bowling club of late.
And this weekend promises to be no different.
That’s because Newcastle’s First Ladies of Rock (don’t worry, they’re more Michelle than Milenia) Bitchcraft will be headlining a massive five-band bill featuring some of the finest punk rock and roll this town has to offer.
Since forming back in 2001, Bitchcraft have been tearing up stages with their infectious brand of ear-worm punk.
Emboldened with a middle-finger attitude (with a healthy dose of party vibes for good measure) Bitchcraft are all about satisfying the need to rage and tell their stories of revenge, dodgy predatory dudes, painful relationships, and too many times having bad taste in men.
The raucousness won’t stop there, either with Wollongong all-girl rockers The Fangin’ Felines taking up the co headline slot.
This four piece (featuring members of riotous ’90s rockers Nitocris) will apparently delight you with their purring, raw, untamed sounds guaranteed to get yer hips a shakin’. Offering up a dash of rock n roll, pop, 60s garage & swamp blues with lush girl-group harmonies.
The bill will be rounded out by Novocastrian indie punks The Not Nots, Central Coast madmen The Froth Dogs and local up and coming upstarts Grip Down.
Now if that wasn’t tempting enough, the whole shindig is completely FREE and the venue is kid-friendly!
Also, the bands kick off at 5pm and the whole thing is done and dusted by 10 to you can go home to a cup of Bovril or kick on ’til the break o dawn. You do you!
Catch bitchcraft, The Fangin’ Felines, The Not Nots, Froth Dogs and Grip Down at Mayfield Bowling Club on Saturday 2 November.
