After what seems like an eternity, The Cambridge will reopen its doors from next week.
Yep, that’s right! The iconic West End venue has wowed Newy gig pigs, by announcing a raft of local and national limited capacity shows throughout the month with the doors opening on Tuesday 14 July.
Not only that, upon reopening, the Cambo will also house Newy’s newest kebabbery Lost Boys Kebab and will also host Rock and Roll Raffles every Friday Night that could see you take home drum kits, gig tix, or even studio recording time.
They’ll also be rocking a Happy Hour every Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 6pm, but like everything else at the moment, numbers are strictly limited so you’ll have to book ahead.
But when it comes to the gigs, Grinspoon frontman and all-round Oz indie-rock legend Phil Jamieson will be hitting the Cambo stage on Saturday 18 July.
Phil will be ripping through a solo set chock full of classic Grinners tunes, some solo stuff and a few ‘ring ins’ just for the fun of it. Oh, and in a case of this show will be so nice, let’s do it twice, Phil will be onstage for an early show at 6pm and backing up with a 9pm late show.
If that wasn’t enough, Sydney pop-rockers Lime Cordiale will be swinging by on Wednesday 22 July to give Newcastle fans a taste of their second album 14 Steps To A Better You.
Brothers Oliver and Louis Leimbach will also be playing two intimate shows at 6.30 and 9pm.
Newcastle’s fecund hotbed of talent isn’t forgotten about, either. Just check out the July calendar below and rejoice. The Cambo’s back, baby!
