Shannon Noll has dropped the video for his latest single which could very well be the feelgood hit of the summer.
The track, aptly titled Long Live The Summer is a country-rock barnburner as well as being an unabashed love letter to the What About Me hitmaker’s favorite season.
Dubbed an ‘anti-clip’ by Nollsy, it was filmed at Shoal Bay Country Club, The Ramada Shoal Bay and Shoal Bay Beach, and starred a handful of fans who answered a casting call last month to appear alongside THEIR Australian Idol.
Playing up to those ever-persistent memes of Shannon’s supposed refusal to give items he had borrowed back to their original owners, the clip also features the likes of Dave Hughes, Julia Morris and Brad Fittler begging Shannon to return such items as hedge trimmers and giant undies.
In another nod to our neck of the woods, Jess Farchione from Hit 106.9’s breakfast team plays Shannon’s ‘annoying publicist,’ while Tim and dusty from local heroes Hurricane Fall also make an appearance in the self-deprecating clip.
The clip was also directed by Novocastrian Joshua Holliday.
