There is sure to be plenty of thunder roaring around the track for the upcoming Coates Hire Newcastle 500 this November.
And those undisputed gods of thunder KISS, will add an air of rock and roll swagger to the high-octane proceedings with a mammoth Supercars concert scheduled for Saturday 23 November.
The highly anticipated show is an absolute must-see for fans of four to the floor rock and roll as it is part of KISS’S FINAL EVER tour.
Dubbed The End Of The Road tour, the Australian leg will see the I Was Made For Lovin You hitmakers play eight Down Under shows but Newcastle fans are in for the biggest treat as the Supercars gig will be the band’s only outdoor show!
The last time KISS was in our neck of the woods was back in 2015 as part of their 40th anniversary tour and if you were lucky enough to witness that spectacle, you’d know that this is a band that doesn’t do things by halves.
Ripping through an all-killer-no-filler set that included the likes of Detroit Rock City, I Was Made For Lovin’ You, Cold Gin and Deuce, the show was augmented by a mammoth mechanical spider that was reportedly moved by 38 computer-controlled winches, with 220 automated lights, 900 pieces of pyrotechnics and powered by 400,000 watts of sound.
But if that wasn’t enough to have you rocking and rolling all night and partying every day in anticipation, try this on for size.
Joining KISS on this no-foolin’ extravaganza will be Newcastle’s very own rock and roll heroes The Screaming Jets.
With iconic hits like Better, C’Mon, and Helping Hand under their belt as well as THAT iconic gig in Civic Park celebrating the Knights’ 1997 grand final win, The Jets are etched into the fabric of Newy culture.
The Jets also opened for KISS on their 2001 Australian tour so this show will be a welcome reunion for the two rock and roll juggernauts.
Catch KISS at No 1 Sports Ground on Saturday 23 November. Get your tickets here but be sure to get in quick because this one WILL sell out!
The Coates Hire Newcastle 500 will be on from Friday 22 November to Sunday 24 November. For more info on all of the action, on and off the track head here.
