My fellow Newcastle Live junior journalist Mia Kearney went to the
climate strike in Newcastle recently and gave us her thoughts on the big event.
I loved her story, and it got me thinking about all the stuff we kids can do to help the planet.
My first thought – probably like yours – was toys! I love toys and I started to think about the latest craze covering the playground and our homes like a blanket on a cold winter’s night?
You guessed what I was thinking! Ooshies! They’re everywhere! Still!
So let’s dig deep and see how some people love them, and how some people hate them.
First of all let’s think about why people love Ooshies. They are fun to collect, are cute and are great fun to play with.
They grab your attention and they feel good.
Now let’s turn this table 180 degrees and think why some people don’t enjoy them.
Some people are ECO WARRIORS and love the environment. To them, Ooshies are like the devil.
These toys are made from rubber, plastic and other nasty stuff that doesn’t disintegrate. To this group, Ooshies are future (and unnecessary) landfill.
So, after this chitter-chatter about Ooshies, I would love to know which side you are on.
Let me know in the comments your thoughts about Ooshies. Do you love them? Do you hate them?
