Newcastle indie-rock trio Midway has unleashed their much-anticipated sophomore EP Interrogation, a release that cements their status as one of the region’s most exciting emerging bands.
Blending psychedelic-rock energy with sharp indie sensibilities, the EP showcases a band that has evolved both musically and creatively, delivering a collection of tracks that are as electrifying as they are emotionally resonant.
Featuring the high-energy singles Tuffen Up and Silhouette, Interrogation balances heavy-hitting instrumentation with raw, heartfelt lyricism. The EP harks back to their 2021 debut Red P’s while still pushing their songwriting and production to new heights.
The creative process behind Interrogation was a collaborative effort, with guitarist and vocalist Jordan Snowden laying the groundwork before bassist Mason Capiello and drummer Kade Winfield brought their own distinct flavours into the mix.
In the Hazy Cosmic Jive studio, producer/engineer Gareth Hudson provided an environment that encouraged the band’s experimentation, allowing them to explore new sonic textures and refine their sound.
Since forming in 2018, Midway has built a loyal following in Newcastle and beyond, sharing stages with artists like Pacific Avenue, Eliza and The Delusionals, and Bootleg Rascal.
Fans will have the chance to experience Interrogation live throughout March as Midway embarks on an East Coast tour with their hometown show in Newcastle on 28 March at The Oak.
