One is a little bit country and the other is a little bit rock and roll.
And now Troy Cassar-Daley and Ian Moss are joining forces for a national tour that will swing through Newcastle this October.
This auspicious meeting of musical minds dubbed the Together Alone tour, will hit Newcastle City Hall on Thursday 21 October and as a special treat, these two Oz music icons will be joined by ex-pat Novocastrian Melody Moko.
Traversing disparate ends of the musical spectrum both Ian and Troy have become two of the most respected musicians and songwriters in the biz, and this show will see these two vocal and guitar powerhouses share the stage as they take you on a musical journey across their long and storied careers.
“I have been a big fan of Troy’s for so long so when this opportunity came up to do a lap around Australia with him I was never going to say no,” Ian said in a statement.
“These shows have been about two years in the planning, the setlist will have everything plus a few surprises and I can’t wait to finally take it on the road and out to our fans.”
Echoing the sentiment, Troy added that he had long been enamoured with Ian’s nimble fretwork/
“From the first chord I heard Ian Moss play on guitar I was hooked, and then he sang! He has been a major source of inspiration for me for years and to play some shows with him across the country will be something very special,” Troy said.
“This will be a great fun musical adventure, I’m so proud to blend what we do on stage for people to see, guitar heaven! See you out there. I can’t wait to play.”
To make the auspicious occasion a bit more spesh, you can nab yourself a VIP ticket (limited to 30 per show) to the shows which gets you an exclusive meet and greet with Troy and Ian during soundcheck, a tour lanyard, a stubbie cooler and, of course, a ticket to the show.
