From midday tomorrow (Wednesday 15 February) you’ll be able to get your hands on tickets for the 2023 Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest.

After last year’s heavy flooding and a pandemic the year before the much-loved event will be able to finally celebrate its belated 35th anniversary.

Maitland Station and the Steamfest Rally Ground will play host to a bucket load of events over the last weekend in April.

While train journeys will defiantly be a highlight for anyone visiting Steamfest this year, there will be plenty of activities and entertainment off the tracks too.

“Train enthusiasts have been made to wait a long time to celebrate Steamfestโ€™s landmark 35th anniversary,” Maitland City Council Coordinator City Events and Activation Adam Franks said

“The good news is, weโ€™re committed to putting on a real show for our passionate railfans, who we know travel from far and wide to soak in the atmosphere at Hunter Valley Steamfest.

“Steamfest celebrates Maitlandโ€™s rich steam and industrial heritage and has become a popular destination for the hundreds of thousands of people who are passionate about steam locomotives and the history of steam.โ€™

Festival-goers can purchase tickets on one of the many steam or heritage diesel train journeys or just wander through the Railway Street Collectors Market featuring amusements rides, fortune telling and mystical moments in a Carnival Lane.

There’ll be displays of antique machinery, portable and traction engines and you’ll be able to take a ride on the trackless train.

The event will also host a Show n Shine event with over 500 cars of all makes and models from classic, hot rods and muscle cars to vintage beauties.

Tickets to Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest, on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April 2023, will be on sale from midday Wednesday 15 February. Visit steamfest.com.au to find out more
