The Hunter Valley Beer & BBQ Festival returns to Hope Estate this April

The Hunter Valley Beer & BBQ Festival will once again transform the amphitheatre at Hope Estate into an absolute Beer & BBQ lover’s paradise.

Over two days in April, Hope Estate will showcase over 40 Hope Estate beers and ciders and host rounds of the Australasian BBQ Alliance Cookoff and Steak Cookoff Competition.

At the tasting tents, you’ll find a huge range of easy-drinking Ales and Lagers, German styles and thirst-quenching Sours alongside crafty Porters, Stouts and more.

The BBQs and Smokers will be heating up with rounds of the Steak Cookoff Competition on Saturday and Australasian BBQ Alliance Cookoff on Sunday giving ticket holders the chance to chat to the competitors while they prepare their entries for each category.

And if all that cooking makes you hungry, you can indulge by visiting one of the BBQ food vendors onsite or double down by attending the Hunter Valley Beer & BBQ Festival’s Ultimate Angus Lunch.

A meat enthusiast’s dream the Ultimate Angus Lunch will be serving up Hope Estate’s very own Black Angus beef, which is pasture raised and finished on the spent grain from the brewery, over a three-course lunch.

You’ll indulge in a selection of cuts and cooking techniques in a delicious tasting plate format that’s kind of like paddock to plate but more like brewery to paddock to plate. Basically, you’ll be feasting on the beef that fed on the grain that made the beer you’re drinking.

“I’m really looking forward to this year’s festival, especially being able to present our own beef at the Ultimate Angus Lunch,” Hope Estate owner Michael Hope said.

“We’re learning and tweaking the format to give our patrons a better experience each year.”

Meat and beer connoisseurs will also have the chance to purchase a judging ticket for one of the Hunter Valley Beer & BBQ Festival cook-off competitions or get some tips direct from the experts at the Strong Beer Masterclass and Demonstration Stage.

The Hunter Valley Beer & BBQ Festival will take over Hope Estate on Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of April 2023.
