I first met Rachel Maria Cox aka RMC, pretty much a year ago to the day, and their music perfectly filled the emotional void that provided the foundation for my own quarter life crisis. I listened to their tunes intently, and fell in love with their EP I Just Have a Lot of Feelings (I mean don’t we all, it’s the best part about being human right?). After an extended grey period of anticipation, June 1st marks the day where the wait for a heartbreak remedy is finally over. Thanks to a very successful crowd funding campaign, RMC is back with an incredible new single; ’Emotionally Untidy’.
A darker, and somewhat heavier track, ‘Emotionally Untidy’ is an ode to loose ends, heartbreaking goodbyes and the pre conceived misconceptions about intimacy, that we have all fought with at one time or another. Once again, RMC has effectively translated the quarter life crisis chatter into a jam that will have you turning up your headphones as you effortlessly run away from your problems.
The full band sound behind RMC’s vocals, has really added the backing that their lyrical tenacity needed and honestly down right deserved. You can catch RMC dropping this banger amongst other hits (which probably will include a cover of Hinder’s Lips of an Angel), live this weekend at the Lass O’Gowrie with Lincoln Le Fevre & Pinch Hitter on the 4th of June.
