After what seems like an eternity the light at the end of the no-gig tunnel is finally in sight.
We’ve already seen a smattering of venues such as the Stag announce shows as restrictions on pubs and clubs are eased further, and now it’s Lizotte’s turn!
Yep, that’s right! The popular Lambton venue has announced a string of shows kicking off from this month and we couldn’t be more stoked!
Neil Diamond fans will be in Crunchy Granola heaven thanks for Newy multi-talent Ty Penshorn who will bring his Diamond – The Show spectacular to the Lizotte’s stage for THREE performances on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June.
Soulful vocal powerhouse Greg Gould will also be stopping by on Friday 19 June to celebrate the release of his new album 1998.
You might know Greg from the 2013 season of Australia’s Got Talent that saw the singer finish as runner up after brilliant renditions of such standards as Nina Simone’s Feeling Good and Arthur Hamilton’s Cry Me A River.
Speaking of vocal powerhouses, Mahalia Barnes will be in the house on Saturday 20 June with her band the Soul Mates before lauded INXS tribute Don’t Change Ultimate INXS take over the venue for two shows on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June!
Owners Brian and Jo Lizotte’s commitment to nurturing local talent will also continue unabated with the venue hosting TWO of its popular Live and Local events held in conjunction with EAO Entertainment and Murray’s Brewery.
The first, on Wednesday 17 June will be a celebration of all things ukulele with local acts Ohana, Original Cyn and Uke Dirty Rats, while the Wednesday 25 June will be a showcase of Newcastle Live’s Newcastle’s Got Talent finalists!
