Fancy a free Hometown Holiday right here in Newcastle?

2020, the year that our passports and suitcases appeared to be locked shut.

Ohh the irony. 2020 has been the kind of year that means we all actually NEED a holiday.

Well, perhaps it’s time to turn our attention a little closer to home. To take a look in our own backyard and see Newcastle through the eyes of a tourist. To kick back, relax and venture on a Hometown Holiday

Take in the awe-inspiring coastline and natural beauty. Sip a cocktail or coffee to rival any around the world, and share local produce and delicious food from celebrated chefs. Do a spot of shopping and meet the makers and traders. Book a tour, some local overnight accommodation and have an adventure, or at very least a massage.

A holiday your way, and without the hassle of travel.

And wouldn’t it be glorious to do it for free?

The Hometown Holiday campaign has been developed to encourage Novocastrians to explore and re-discover their own backyard and to see Newcastle as a holiday destination.

The University of Newcastle, in conjunction with Newcastle City Council, is asking us to get out and about in our glorious City, to consider holidaying here this year, and to support local businesses after what has been a tough time for many.

We are ALL encouraged to enter the Hometown Holiday giveaway, and 100 of us lucky locals will win a $500 Hometown Holiday voucher to book in a break and get exploring!

You’ve got to be in it to win it and entering is easy.

Visit the Hometown Holiday website, click the red ENTER NOW button, complete your details and tell us, in 25 words or less, what you’d do on your Hometown Holiday.

Once you’re done, you could win a $500 Hometown Holiday voucher thanks to the University of Newcastle and City of Newcastle.

There are 100 vouchers to be won across four weeks and they can be spent at 70 participating Newcastle businesses. Meaning you can take your ultimate Hometown Holiday with accommodation, some retail therapy, good eats, and local adventures!

Entries close on Sunday 13 December so get in quick.
