Newcastle pop, rock and roll band, Holly Who debuted sixth in the AMRAP ‘Top 10 Tracks Most Ordered For Airplay’ chart this week.
The AMRAP ‘Top 10 Tracks Most Ordered For Airplay’ chart has helped launch Matt Corby, The Temper Trap, Dan Sultan and recently Flume and Cloud Control. It is a huge achievement for the currently unsigned, Holly Who and Newcastle Live would like to offer them a big congratulation.
Lead vocalist Holly Clayton stated, “Delightfully puzzled would sum up the sentiment well. Most artists in the chart have management, a recording deal with at least a few decent tours under their belt. That is not our current situation, therefore the reality must mean our music is simply resonating with people and that is superbly rewarding.”
The chart overseen by AMRAP is the number one source of new music for over 250 community radio stations in Australia
with a 10,000 plus track library. It is a serious achievement to debut in the ‘Top 10’.
Holly Who released their debut EP in April 2014 where it reached number 17 in the i-Tunes chart. Since the release they have
gained three festival spots later in the year, are receiving national and international radio play and now charting in
Australia. “Yes, we have been overwhelmed with the response but we’re working hard to try and use the momentum while it’s there.”
