Hit 106.9FM’s Nick Gill to star in Grease The Arena Experience!

Harvest Rain Theatre Company, the guys behind 2016’s Hairspray – The Big Fat Arena Spectacular, are back in Newcastle this July with a new production, Grease The Arena Experience! And in a Newcastle first, Nick Gill, one half of the Number One Breakfast Radio team (Nick & Sophie) from Hit 106.9FM, will play Grease’s Radio Announcer, Vince Fontaine.

Grease The Arena Experience brings everyone’s favourite rock and roll musical to life on stage like you’ve never seen it before. Featuring all the hit songs from the most popular movie musical of all time, including You’re the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’ and more, this is Grease on a mega scale!

Joining Newcastle’s Nick Gill and 700 young musical theatre performer from Newcastle are some of Australia’s most loved and a few of our rising stars.

Hand Jiving across the stage as Johnny Casino will be country music superstar, Triple CMAA Golden Guitar Winner (and Hunter Local) Travis Collins.

After wowing audiences in Wicked and in a gender-bending first, the green witch Jemma Rix takes on the role of Teen Angel, putting an all-new spin on the iconic song “Beauty School Drop Out”.

Singing In The Rain’s Meghan O’Shea and Drew Weston (Ghost The Musical) take on the iconic roles of star-crossed lovers, Sandy and Danny. And, after taking the nation by storm with her critically acclaimed performance as Tracy Turnblad in the national tour of Hairspray – The Big Fat Arena Spectacular, Lauren McKenna will swap the can of hairspray for a Pink Ladies jacket when she takes on the role of Jan in Grease The Arena Spectacular!!

Also starring X Factor’s Barry (Southgate) Conrad as Kenickie, Ruby Clark as Rizzo, Stacey de Waard as Frenchie and Emily Monsma as Marty alongside a mass ensemble of over 700 young performers from across the Hunter region.


Due to demand Harvest Rain have added a fourth and final performance on Sunday 16th July at 1pm. All tickets are now on sale for performances from Friday 14th – Sunday 16th July.
