Can’t wait for Dashville Skyline? Are you waiting with bated breath for the 2021 iteration of everyone’s fave cosmic country weekender to kick off?
Well never fear, because in. their unyielding quest to provide the best fests, the folks over at Dashville HQ, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to tack an extra night onto this already stacked three-day musical extravaganza!
Yep, that’s right! Because there ain’t no party like a pre-party party, before Skyline gets underway on Friday 1 October, you can kick things off early with one heck of an Old Fashioned Nights dinner show on Thursday 30 September.
And who better to usher in such celebrations than lauded troubadour Henry Wagons?
Drawing on a broad-ranging swag of influences, Henry’s show is a high sensation roller coaster ride that ranges from the bluster of sweaty jumpsuit era Elvis, post karate kicks, to the sombre, drunken malaise of Lee Hazelwood. He can touch on the tenderness of a recently heartbroken Roy Orbison while simultaneously embracing the menace of Nick Cave.
A true renaissance man, Henry hosts Australia’s biggest Americana/Roots radio show Tower of Song on Double J and has previously popped up on ABC’s Art Nation and Sunday Arts, as well as Spicks and Specks, Rockwiz not to mention his work with seminal alt-country rockers Wagons.
Suffice to say Henry Wagons is a guy with his fingers in a lot of pies – each one more delicious than the last.
Henry will appear alongside some as-yet-unnamed special guests, but given Dashville’s track record for quality line-ups you can pretty much rest assured that this one will be all killer, no filler!
Catch Old Fashioned Nights with Henry Wagons at Dashville on Thursday 30 October. Get your tickets here. Dashville Skyline is on from Friday 1 October to Sunday 3 October.
