Novocastrian Harry Day on The Battle of Coral Balmoral

53 years ago today, Australian forces in Vietnam were involved in The Battle of Coral Balmoral – the largest and most sustained engagement of the Vietnam War involving our troops.

Over the course of 26 days, 26 Australians were killed in action and more than 109 wounded.

Novocastrian Harry Day, a medic at the time, was in the middle of the action; he shares his heartbreaking memories of those 26 days and nights with Tracy Mac on Newcastle Live Radio.
