She’s the “Queen of rock and roll” who last wowed Aussie audiences in February on the Red Hot Summer Tour.
And it seems Suzi Quatro can’t get enough of the land Down Under as she’s heading back to our shores for another tour in November and Newcastle is on the list!
At 68, you could forgive Suzi for wanting to slow down, but 2019 is proving to be just the opposite, with the leather-clad legend releasing a new album, No Control, earlier this year as well as being the subject of a soon-to-be-released documentary, Suzi Q, which is expected to premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August.
And now, Suzi will be heading our way on the It’s Only Rock And Roll tour which promises to deliver such classic hits as Devil Gate Drive, Can The Can and 48 Crash performed with an exuberance and unbridled energy fans have come to expect from a Suzi Quatro show.
“I want to strip everything back to the original sounds for these shows – bass, drums, keys and guitar,” Suzi said.
“It will be exciting to be raw again. Back to basics. This is what everyone signed on for.”
Having enjoyed a career that has spanned over four decades, Suzi has left an indelible mark on the rock landscape, with the likes of The Runaways, Joan Jett and Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads) citing the iconic bass player as an influence.
She also gained a legion of fans for her glorious turn as Leather Tuscadero in the legendary sitcom Happy Days.
Catch Suzi Quatro at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Friday 8 November.
