Looking to head out of lockdown for your jab but don’t know where to start? Well, you’re in luck because one community-minded tech boffin from Sydney has created an online tool that streamlines the whole process.

COVID-19 Near Me is a website created in 2020 by Sydney-based data engineer Ken Tsang to track exposure sites has released a nifty addition to the site that allows you to see all of the vaccination clinics in your area with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Not only does the map show you where you can get the jab, at government-run vaccination hubs, GPs, and pharmacies, it also shows you which sites are offering either Pfizer, AstraZeneca, or both.

Also, where doable, the tool also shows each site’s vaccine availability so now your quest to get jabbed can be as streamlined as possible.

The new addition is an invaluable adjunct to the exposure section of the side which tracks a list of venues that have been deemed potential exposure sites, colour coding each site from red (isolate for 14 days) to blue (monitor symptoms).

Speaking to Business Insider Australia last week, Ken revealed that he decided to create COVID 19 Near Me during the Northern Beaches outbreak in 2020, after becoming overwhelmed with the constant stream of information.

“It was around a week’s work to begin with,” he told the publication.

โ€œI was like, if Iโ€™m struggling, a lot of other people are struggling as well.”

It’s important to note that the site is not affiliated with the NSW Government but rather powered by its official data so, when using this site make sure to also check the official info from NSW Health as well.
