The Blind Monk has always prided itself on showcasing the best and the newest from the Australian craft beer scene.
Since taking up residence in Hamilton’s Beaumont Street, the small bar has become known for an ever-changing array of craft beer and cider across its 12 taps. And in May, they’re adding some truly special brews from Australian brewery, Mountain Culture.
The Blue Mountains based brewery is the brainchild of DJ and Harriet McCready. In 2017 they embarked on a project that would see them open the first Brewpub in Katoomba. After 18 months they opened the doors and set themselves a goal of learning how to brew better beer with every batch they made.
A selection of these carefully brewed beers can now be enjoyed fresh from the tap at The Blind Monk.
One of the most exciting brews on offer is a Double NEIPA called Wildcard. The New England India Pale Ale is brewed using hops sourced entirely from three Freestyle Farms in Upper Moutere and Tapawera regions. The hops provide a complex mix of pink grapefruit, juicy passionfruit and a hint of lime. And it’s a must-try on your next visit to The Monk.
