BIG SCREEN HALLOWEEN: Cinema classics & new releases at Reading Cinema

Bring your All Hallows’ Eve party to the big screen this Halloween.

Local Reading Cinemas will screen a spooktacular selection of classic and new spine-chilling films on Saturday 31 October.

The lineup of films, listed below, features something for the whole family and Reading is encouraging everyone to get dressed up in their best gothic attire with the best Halloween costume to win prizes.

You know it, we know it – The Labyrinth is an absolute cinema classic and a screening at the cinema is a rite of passage for any movie buff.

If you’ve never seen it (where have you been) the movie follows a teenager who is given thirteen hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother Toby from the clutches of the Goblin King Jareth played by the late and great David Bowie.

The Craft: Legacy

Let the ritual begin! This new Sony Pictures film is the stand-alone sequel to the 1996 film The Craft. It follows a group of high school students who form a coven of witches.

The PG film has enough going on that the whole family can enjoy it.

The Empty Man

Another new release for Halloween. This R rated film is based on the fictional urban legend known as The Empty Man.

There’s no trick or treating here, making it perfect for date night.

Hocus Pocus

This ’90s classic starring  Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz is the ultimate big screen halloween accompaniment.

Another one for the whole family, this one’s got enough laughs for the kids and plenty of nostalgia for Mum and Dad.
