Established in 2021 by the team at Dashville, the Young Gums youth mentorship program gives a five-day music industry-based learning experience to ten regional high school kids.
Funded by Festivals Australia, the initiative provides regional students with a rare opportunity to access the arts through a live music festival, The Gum Ball, that allows them to consider music and events as a viable career path.
Applications are open to students aged 14 to 18 years old, who are interested in staging, lighting, recording, songwriting, vocal training, music production and performance, from 1 February 2022.
To apply, students need to submit a short video and story showcasing their musical ability and passion.
Students are selected for the program by a board of professional artists, event managers and musicians who will then mentor the students over the five days and help them deliver a huge live performance on the final day of the popular three-day festival.
All interested students must have parental consent and submit their applications Day March 20th 2022. Visit dashville.com.au for more information.
