Sex Pistols founding member Glen Matlock will be in Newcastle on 15 November for a show at Lizotte’s to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band’s seminal album, Never Mind The Bollocks.
Glen will be playing Pistols classics and choice cuts from his vast repertoire of innovative rock n’ roll made with acts such as Rich Kids, The Spectres and Hot Club.
Periodic Sex Pistols reunions have allowed Glen to reaffirm his rightful position as the cornerstone of the Pistols, but as a keen song writer Glen is always looking at the next song.
“I embrace those songs from the past, they set me on the path to a great career, but my passion for songwriting has never died and the best song I’ve ever written is the next one I’ll write” Glenn tells us over the phone.
Invigorated in the wake of the Pistols re-emergence, Glen continued to record songs to rival those on Never Mind The Bollocks for swagger and craft. Open Mind, On Something, & Born Running were albums showcasing the full spectrum of Glen’s prowess.
“If you come to the show you’ll hear some Sex Pistols, and I’ll be telling some stories from that period of the band, but I’ve got a few surprises to share with you and I want to play some of my newer songs too”.
